Are you an infj? If so, you’re part of a rare group! According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, only 1-3% of the population can be classified as an infj – the rarest personality type. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at why infj personalities are so rare, and what makes them unique.
We're introverts
Introverts are people who prefer to focus on their own thoughts and feelings rather than engaging with the external world. INFJs, more so than other personality types, fall into this category. They have a strong sense of inner self that is only drawn out through meaningful conversations or relationships with others. This can be a double-edged sword, as it can lead them to feeling overwhelmed in situations where they are exposed to too much external stimuli. However, it also allows them to reflect on their own personal needs and desires, which often leads to deep insights and profound self-realization. INFJs may be quieter and less social than other types, but this doesn't mean that they don't enjoy being around people or having meaningful conversations. They just need time to themselves to process the information and ideas presented by others.
We're intuitive
Intuitive people tend to be forward-thinking, analytical, and imaginative. They have a knack for understanding complex concepts quickly and making connections between seemingly unrelated things. Intuitive people are often open to new ideas and are able to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems. As INFJs, we use our intuition to understand people and their motivations as well as to observe patterns in our environment. We like to think of ourselves as the “big-picture” thinkers who can look at the world through a wide lens. We're very detail-oriented and we have a deep understanding of how things work, but we can also see the big picture and understand how the pieces fit together. Our intuition helps us to understand how all of the different aspects of the world interact with each other. This allows us to make connections that others may not be able to see.
We're Feeling
As an INFJ, feeling is our dominant trait. We are often known for being highly empathetic and compassionate. We take our emotions very seriously and can be very sensitive to criticism and judgement from others. We look for deeper meaning in everything, including relationships and conversations. Our emotions are our compass and we are not afraid to show them, even though we may sometimes feel overwhelmed. We are usually able to understand people's feelings quickly and tend to be more accepting of other's points of view. It is important for us to take time for ourselves to process our own emotions and thoughts.
We're Judging
When it comes to INFJs, we're also Judging. This means that we prefer to have things planned and structured, rather than leaving things to chance. We like to look at the big picture and plan for the future, rather than just focusing on what's happening in the present. We also enjoy seeing things through to completion and having a sense of closure when it comes to projects. This makes us great at completing tasks and seeing our visions come to life. We are usually very organized and methodical in our approach to life, often making lists and checking them off. This tendency towards Judging is why INFJs are often seen as reliable, dependable, and reliable friends and partners.
We're rare because we're all of these things
We’re rare because we’re introverts. INFJs make up only 1-2% of the population, and being an introvert is a huge part of that. We’re not as likely to be outgoing, boisterous, or outspoken as some other personality types.
We’re rare because we’re intuitive. Our ability to see and understand the deeper meaning and complexity of situations, relationships and our own emotions makes us especially unique. We can pick up on small details and nuances that others may miss.
We’re rare because we’re feeling. We put more weight in our values and the emotions of those around us. This combination of intuition and emotion gives us a special level of understanding and insight into the world around us.
Finally, we’re rare because we’re judging. We’re organized, reliable, and goal-oriented, which often sets us apart from other types. We value structure and can keep ourselves focused on our goals and plans, even when faced with challenges or distractions.
All of these qualities, when combined, make INFJs a truly rare personality type. We may not always fit in with the crowd, but that’s okay—because our uniqueness is what makes us special.
